Godliness Train #2

Hey, so it has been awhile since my last blog, and thought hey, I better keep going.

I would love to know how everyone is going with there TV watching, so feel free to drop a line, and let me know.

Stop 2 on the Godliness train is Music. Everywhere and everyday we listen to music. Do we truly listen to the lyrics?, or just keep listening because it has a good beat. We as a Christian community need to think to ourselves, is this really what I want to listen to?

Too often these days music is filled with crude language, sex implications and just plain bad messages. We need to take a stand, we need to stop listening to music, which 1) we don't find acceptable and 2) which we don't find is sending an appropriate message.

The other thing we need to consider is, where does the music come from? Is the music illegally downloaded, ripped or burnt. Everytime we download music illegally, we are not only breaking the law, we are ripping off the music industry and the artists who have put tireless hours into the work, so that you may enjoy it.

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves." (Romans 13:1-2)

So, I set everyone who reads this a challenge. 1) If you have any illegal music, delete or destroy it. 2) If you listen to inappropriate music, STOP and find more suitable music.

Once again, this may be easier for some then others, but I urge you to take a stance, and encourage your friends to follow suit. I deleted my whole illegal music collection and was left with one CD, if I can do you, you can too.

Let me know how your enjoying your trip on the Godliness train, and if you arn't already onboard, hop on today!

I deleted all my stolen music a year or 2 ago. It hurt, but was worth it.

I've blogged some more thoughts here
